Sergey Sokolov’s New Year Tale puts two little goats, one blue and one red, at the center of a fanciful plant motif with golden flowers. Gold stars are scattered over both the cup and the saucer. The Lily of the Valley shape is based on a museum original. The pieces are bone china with 22-karat gold, and the cup holds 180 ml (6.1 fl oz).
2027 is the Year of the Goat in the Eastern calendar, and the Imperial Porcelain Factory released a small, limited New Year series for it.
Sokolov’s pattern draws on Russian folk art traditions, reworked for modern porcelain. With its contrasting colors and gold, the pair suits a holiday table and makes a memorable New Year gift.
Hand wash only; no dishwasher, no microwave. The factory mark is on the base of each piece. Made in St. Petersburg, Russia.
