Cobalt Net Collection
The Lomonosov Cobalt Net pattern is based on the painting of the first Russian porcelain service, the “Own” service, which Dmitry Vinogradov made at the factory for Empress Elizabeth in the mid-18th century. Artist Anna Yatskevich tried many variations before arriving at the final pattern in the 1940s: crossing blue lines with small gold stars. The Cobalt Net service is now in the collections of the State Hermitage, the State Russian Museum and the State Historical Museum.
The shop carries Cobalt Net tea sets for six on the Tulip, Julia and Dome shapes, plus cups, pots, plates, platters and vases. Tulip pieces are hand-painted hard-paste porcelain; Julia, Dome, May and Wave pieces are bone china. All are decorated with 22k gold, so wash them by hand and keep them out of the microwave.
