On this teacup and saucer, Cobalt Net is applied to the Julia shape as an overglaze decal with painting in gold. Both pieces are thin-walled bone china from the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg, and the rim of the cup is glazed smooth. It has been on sale since 2018.
The cup holds 210 ml (7.1 fl oz) filled to the brim, up to 10–15% less in use, and stands 7.5 cm (3 in) tall. The saucer is 16.4 cm (6.5 in) across. Bone china has a milky tone that can look brighter or paler on screen.
Mikhail Sorokin (b. 1950), a sculptor and porcelain painter at the factory since 1985, created the Julia shape in 2004. Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952) designed the original Cobalt Net, and factory artist Galina Shulyak adapted it for this shape.
To protect the gold, wash by hand with a liquid detergent and a soft sponge; a dishwasher can dull or wear the gilding over time. Not for use in the microwave.
