This tea service for six puts Cobalt Net on the Tulip shape. It is hard-paste porcelain from the Imperial Porcelain Factory; every piece is painted by hand, under the glaze and over it, and the decoration includes 22-karat gold. The set has been in production since 1951.
The 20 pieces are a teapot, a sugar bowl, six cups of 250 ml (8.5 fl oz), six saucers, and six dessert plates.
Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952) designed the pattern. She painted porcelain at the factory from 1932 to 1952, and her painting of the Cobalt Net tea set won a gold medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. The Tulip shape is by Serafima Yakovleva (1910–1993), Honored Artist of the RSFSR, who developed it in 1936. Over her years at the factory, from 1935 to 1987, she created about 40 shapes for sets.
