This vase carries Anna Yatskevich’s Cobalt Net on the Cylinder shape by Vladimir Gorodetsky. It is cast by hand in hard-paste porcelain at the Imperial Porcelain Factory. The pattern is applied as an underglaze decal and finished with painting in 22-karat gold.
It stands 27 cm (10.6 in) tall, measures 10.3 cm (4.1 in) across, and holds 1,200 ml (40.6 fl oz).
Yatskevich (1904–1952) painted porcelain at the factory from 1932 to 1952. Her Cobalt Net tea set won a gold medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair, and her work is held by the Hermitage and the State Russian Museum. Gorodetsky (1924–1977), Honored Artist of the USSR, worked at the factory as a painter and sculptor from 1947 and painted mostly underglaze; his work is in the State Russian Museum and the Kuskovo Estate museum.
Hand wash only.
