Cobalt Net and the Tulip shape make up this 14-piece tea set for six, in production since 1951. The hard-paste porcelain comes from the Imperial Porcelain Factory. It is hand-painted under and over the glaze and decorated with 22-karat gold.
In the set: a teapot, a sugar bowl, six cups holding 250 ml (8.5 fl oz) each, and six saucers. Not dishwasher safe.
The pattern is by Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952), a porcelain painter at the factory from 1932 to 1952. In 1936 she designed the factory’s trademark, and her Cobalt Net tea set brought her a gold medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. Serafima Yakovleva (1910–1993), Honored Artist of the RSFSR, created the Tulip shape in 1936, and her set shapes, the Tulip among them, won a gold medal at the same fair.
