The Imperial Porcelain Factory makes this gravy boat in hard-paste porcelain on the Youth shape. Its Cobalt Net is an underglaze decal, finished with painted gold.
It holds 400 ml (13.5 fl oz) and measures 17 cm (6.7 in) long, 9.6 cm (3.8 in) wide, and 9 cm (3.5 in) high.
Anna Leporskaya (1900–1982), the author of the shape, was a painter, graphic artist, and porcelain sculptor. She studied with Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and Kazimir Malevich and worked in the factory’s art laboratory from 1948 to 1982. Cobalt Net was designed by Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952); her tea service in the pattern received a gold medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair, and her work is in the Hermitage and the Russian Museum.
