The factory has been making this Tulip-shape coffee pot since 1951. Every one is cast by hand in hard-paste porcelain at the Imperial Porcelain Factory and then painted by hand in Cobalt Net, some of the work beneath the glaze and some on the surface, with 22-karat gold.
The pot holds 1,200 ml (40.6 fl oz), and the lid is included. It is 19.4 cm (7.6 in) long, 12 cm (4.7 in) wide, and 18.9 cm (7.4 in) tall.
Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952), who created the pattern, painted porcelain at the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory from 1932 to 1952 and was awarded the Order of the Red Star in 1944; the Hermitage and the Russian Museum hold her work. Serafima Yakovleva (1910–1993) worked at the factory from 1935 to 1987. For decades after she developed it in 1936, the Tulip ranked among the factory’s most popular shapes.
Wash by hand; the coffee pot is not dishwasher safe.
