On the Youth shape, this napkin ring is hard-paste porcelain from the Imperial Porcelain Factory, decorated with a Cobalt Net underglaze decal and finished with painted gold.
It measures 5.6 × 2.9 cm (2.2 × 1.1 in) and stands 4.6 cm (1.8 in) high.
The pattern is by Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952), a porcelain painter at the factory from 1932 to 1952, who was awarded the Order of the Red Star in 1944. In 1936 she also designed the factory mark found on all of its pieces. The shape comes from Anna Leporskaya (1900–1982): painter, graphic artist, designer, and porcelain sculptor, winner of the Repin State Prize, and a student of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and Kazimir Malevich. She designed shapes for sets, vases, and other pieces that went into production.
