This Tulip-shape candy vase comes from the Imperial Porcelain Factory and is made of hard-paste porcelain. Its Cobalt Net decoration is painted by hand, some of it beneath the glaze and some on top, with gold accents.
The vase is 13.4 cm (5.3 in) in diameter and 7 cm (2.8 in) high, and it holds 325 ml (11 fl oz).
Serafima Yakovleva (1910–1993), a sculptor and Honored Artist of the RSFSR, designed the Tulip shape in 1936. She worked at the factory from 1935 to 1987, and her work is in the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. Anna Yatskevich (1904–1952), the author of the pattern, painted porcelain there from 1932 to 1952. She received the Order of the Red Star in 1944, and her Cobalt Net tea set earned a gold medal at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair.
